No More Incumbents - This Week

We’re kicking off another week at NoMoreIncumbents.org. We are actively reaching out to great writers and bloggers across the internet.

We’re seeking political bloggers of any or all stripes that share the sentiment that our current political system is severely out of balance. This week have kicked off our coverage of the Presidential campaign. We’re hoping to add 1-2 writers per week this spring as we get up to speed for the 2008 election. We will be putting together useful tools and information on incumbents around the country and will be happy to ad more information or take suggestions as we move forward.

Getting the Word out on No More Incumbents

Everyone has to start somewhere. NoMoreIncumbents.org is just a few weeks old, but we have a great deal of potential. Over the next few months and years, I will be spending a great deal of time promoting our site and the work of our writers for each state so that we can deliver our anti-incumbent message.

More importantly we will create an organization capable of empowering people to get information on incumbents so that they can make their own decisions about whether or not they should support a re-election or take an anti incumbent stance.

In the age of the internet its important to pay attention to the keywords and this means that we will be working to insure that are message is readily available in Google.

Already when someone searches on the keyword of No More Incumbents, this blog comes up at the top of the list. Similarly, searches for the keywords No Incumbents puts us in the 5th position on Google, and even for the generic word that represents the nemesis of a free democracy, the word Incumbents puts us in 63rd position in Google.

We will do many things to strengthen our site and each of the individual blogs for the fifty states. We have started and this will improve over time so that we can be effective in our campaign to prevent Incumbent elections from succeeding.

NoMoreIncumbents.org Strives to be First in Fifty States

One of our first missions at NoMoreIncumbents.org is to be the first organization and site to organize bloggers in all fifty states. We want to bring out bloggers from all fifty states plus any protectorates of the United States. Incumbency politics is entrenched and we are going to harness the power of the blogosphere to chip away at this problem.

We kick that effort off this week with the launch of No More Incumbents New Jersey. New Jersey has a long history and that history has grown infused with problems of repeat Incumbents. Incumbents are rarely defeated in New Jersey and that is not a healthy climate for growth, improvement or change.

Incumbent Blogs for all fifty states

No More Incumbent writing Opportunities for 50 states

I have received a good deal of positive feedback about writing for No More Incumbents. This is great and we have lots of opportunity to spread this out. I wanted to mention that we will be setting up at least 1 blog for each of the fifty states. Where there is demand or need possibly one for each party, and in some areas possibly a blog for major metropolitan areas such as New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and possibly others if there is a demand.

Building a No More Incumbent Community

It is my vision that we will all be able to channel our writing efforts towards a specific tangible goal of defeating incumbents come election day. For this effort we will need writers from all parties and all walks of life. We will often times write in ways that brings us together as we talk about examples of what should or should not be done in our state but is or isn’t being done in other states. This will become a place where we can collaborate and build ideas and momentum together.

There will be many aspects to the site including a podcast where we will cover individual articles and summaries of others, plus interviews and more. Much Much more.

So again, if you are interested please send me an email at info@nomoreincumbents.org. We still have many positions open. As we grow we will also develop a need for some editorial work as well. Its my intention to look within our collective of writers for editorial help. I mention it now so that you can see the potential later on down the road.
