NoMoreIncumbents.org Strives to be First in Fifty States

One of our first missions at NoMoreIncumbents.org is to be the first organization and site to organize bloggers in all fifty states. We want to bring out bloggers from all fifty states plus any protectorates of the United States. Incumbency politics is entrenched and we are going to harness the power of the blogosphere to chip away at this problem.

We kick that effort off this week with the launch of No More Incumbents New Jersey. New Jersey has a long history and that history has grown infused with problems of repeat Incumbents. Incumbents are rarely defeated in New Jersey and that is not a healthy climate for growth, improvement or change.

No More Incumbents Has Launched!

This is our inaugural post here at NoMoreIncumbents.org. This project was the brain child of Brett Bumeter. The entire purpose of this blog and this organization is to work to balance out the power structure in politics today. Politicians continue to gain power in ways that corrupts the system and they refuse to relinquish it for the better of society.

We feel that many politicians get into politics for the right reasons, but the more power they earn or receive the more corrupt they inevitably become. As such we can help them and help our system by working to insure that no incumbent is re-elected. That is our basic premise and here is our basic charter.

  1. We will work to help any politician of any party running against an incumbent with an emphasis towards politicians that have the best chance of defeating the incumbent in power currently.
  2. We will support politicians that are incumbent in one office but running against an incumbent in another office. We feel that politicians need to continually work to improve and promote themselves up and out of a job. This way we can support experienced politicians as they seek higher office. We do not want to support any politician that accepts the status quo and that includes their tenure to repeat in the same office. If they can learn enough and get enough done in the first term to get elected into a higher office, then we want them out!
  3. We will not support any politician that is under investigation. They are innocent until proven guilty, but we must focus on non-incumbents that have the best chance of winning.

We will add and refine these principles as needed, but this is our primary tenets.

We will write more in the future about how we plan to achieve these goals and look forward to helping to make America a better country by refreshing our political system through the most natural of term limits, elections!
