Oil Hits $117 - A Conversation on the Impact

The preceding posts included a conversation that I was involved in at Utterz.com, a social networking site.  I wanted to experiment with sharing this segment of the conversation here at NoMoreIncumbents.org and looking into the potential for some cross germination of ideas and discussion based on the topic.

You can find the first through the seventh post in the series as follows:

  1. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else Part 1
  2. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else -Part 2
  3. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else-Part 3
  4. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else-Part 4
  5. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else-Part 5
  6. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else-Part 6
  7. Oil Hits $117, Effects Cost of Everything Else-Part 7

As the conversation develops at Utterz, I will work to keep everyone here up on the conversation.  You are more than welcome to hop over there and join directly into the conversation as well, whatever is easiest for you.  The Utterz community is friendly and open and easy to use and doesn’t require any special invitations, hand shakes, funny hats or equestrian clothing for fox hunts on Sunday or anything.

Come as you are whenever you like however you like and share your perspective and we will all be better for the conversation.

Update on the Clinton Rally

I wanted to provide a quick update on the Charlotte, NC Clinton Rally that I covered last Friday.  I am finishing up the editing on the video from the event and hope to share it with you here by tomorrow afternoon (the first installment).

I will also be picking up the next installment on Campaign Finance and the new form of Money Laundering reaching out to Campaigns across the internet.

As a little bit of background on that series, I have a Master’s in International Taxation and have studied money laundering and anti-money laundering efforts for a decade now.  The political universe is at a cross roads, almost a perfect storm of an opportunity for money laundering techniques to abuse and hold hostage the political process both in the US and even more so around the world.  It has never been easier for people to wield influence over a politician and a political campaign, and I hope through my series to help shed light on the situation and provide fuel for our country and others to act and close loop holes now before the system is suffocated with the pillows full of slightly dirty to very dirty money floating around out there.

The New No More Incumbents Website

This weekend while my relatives were out of town on one of those caribbean cruises near Aruba, I took a few hours this evening performing some updates on the No More Incumbents site.  I have been saving up a number of things I wanted to do to improve the site and just never got to it, until now.

New-No_More_Incumbents

I cleaned up some of the mess with the layout of the buttons for the different states and rolled that into a new drop down menu.  That will take you to Incumbent news for every state and territory in the United States (not counting Iraq).

I also added a logo.  It was kind of off the cuff, but its growing on me.  I am no graphic artist and I can’t even get a job playing one on TV, but That will do in a pinch.

I also fixed a few other things, and overall the main site is a lot cleaner looking now, in my humble opinion.

We Are Back!

For about 2-3 days our site was down.  I was traveling and unaware.  Apparently something in an automated renewal process at domain host, did not automatically renew, even though they did successfully charge our credit card three times that day.

Regardless, we are not going anywhere!
