Speculation continues to persist as to whom Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain will choose as a running mate.
One person frequently mentioned in the mix is the popular Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. Many of us feel that she would do a great job as vice-president.
Then in an interview with the Washington Post in late February 2008; “When asked about whether she would consider the number-2 spot in the country — the vice presidency… Pursing her lips, Palin calls it an ‘impossibility’ this time around, but not altogether out of the question.
Many folks did not pick up on her use of the words “impossibility this time around, but not altogether out of the question.”

Then, on or about March 6th, 2008, the matter of the curious words, “impossibility” was explained. Many media outlets carried the news, including the Anchorage Daily News http://www.adn.com/ and ABC Alaska News http://www.aksuperstation.com/; which carried the second half of this video:
“Gov. Sarah Palin dropped a day-ending bombshell. She’s pregnant. Palin said Wednesday that she and her husband Todd are expecting their fifth child sometime in mid-May.”
When asked about how this new child would affect her, the Governor said, “This is one of those circumstances that has kinda shifted our way of thinking. It certainly makes me very much more so committed to even wanting to stay in Alaska, you know wanting to raise kids in Alaska and at some point in the future I don’t know how far off in the future but in some point maybe there will be other doors open.”
We certainly look forward to Governor Palin’s future national leadership; meanwhile congratulations are in order for the impending birth of her fifth child.

We’ve only chosen the videos that are serious or relevant as opposed to all the spoof videos that are filling up the inter-toobs rapidly.   If you are looking for Sarah Palin spoofs, or Palin offering up casserole recipes for moose burger, you’ve come to the wrong place.

The Democratic Party has officially and publicly lost their mind.  They have decided that Florida and Michigan voters are not worth the time or trouble.  Both states and the Democratic Party have decided to ignore voters and they will now opt for a backroom deal to determine which Democratic candidate is really good for the people of these states.

Florida Cheap SOB’s and Party Big Wigs

Florida initially thought they could run a new Democratic Primary for $1.5 million.  Then the price doubled to $3m, only to jump to $5 million and then $15 million and ultimately they said it would cost $50 million and $50 million was too much money to bring Democracy to Florida.   The State of Florida, the Democratic Party and the Candidates are all apparently too cheap.  They might be willing to drop millions of dollars on ads, and hotels and even some directbuy furniture from a Boca furniture store but empowering the people of Florida to choose their candidate for one of the most important Presidential Elections in 100 year is too expensive.

Apparently Florida is too much of a quagmire and it would be easier to keep funding a push for Democracy in cheaper regions like Iraq as opposed to Florida.

Michigan Stuck in a Catch 22 with Obama Camp and Neither Can make a Decision

In Michigan its not about the money, its about making Barack Obama happy.  The State government and the Democratic Party were unable to come to terms with the Obama campaign.

You know the ones that are supposed to be able to bring people together and make change.  Apparently the Obama style of change is to not show up on time to get their name on the ballot and then refuse to negotiate with the State so that all Michigan voters will lose their voice in the Democratic Primary.  That’s definitely a change, maybe they will solve National voter turnout problems by just throwing out the concept of elections all together in 2012.  Who needs elections when you can just skip them and do a backroom deal?

The State of Michigan would not pass a resolution to do a re-vote (mostly after they learned that Florida could get away without having an election too.  Before that Michigan was on the fast track to have a new primary.) because lawmakers wanted the King of Michigan to bless their legislation before they voted on it and signed it into law.  You may wonder who the King of Michigan is, well its Barack Obama.  Michigan wanted Barack Obama to tell them that their legislation was acceptable before they would put it up for a vote and pass it into law.

The last time I checked, the State of Michigan, its Congress, Governor and Constitution make absolutely no mention of a 4th leg of government known as the King of Michigan in the form of Barack Obama but that did not stop the state from getting stuck in a stalemate with this all powerful new branch of Michigan government.

Biting Democrats in the Rear in November 2008

Apparently Democrats have forgotten that Florida and Michigan too are very important states.  All states are important, but you would think that the Democrats would not want to thumb their nose at the Democratic voters of Florida that delivered the popular vote to Democrats in 2000.  If Democracy is just too hard to accomplish for the Democratic party, maybe they are not the right party to steward the US Constitution for another 4 years.

One of New York’s famed crime and corruption fighters today seems to have fallen to his own vices as it was revealed that he had been caught up in a money laundering and prostitution sting initiated by the Federal Government.  The Federal Government was in the process of investigating the Gambino crime family when they started looking into the money laundering and prostitution activities of the Emperor’s Club (emperorsclubvip.com~now offline).

As part of the investigation, they collected thousands of emails text messages and utilize wire taps.  After the Federal government initiated a sting operation to close down the operation and arrest the principles it was revealed that one of the clients of the prostitution service, ‘Client #9′, was none other than Governor Eliot Spitzer.  Spitzer made a career and brand out of himself as a person that fought corruption from prostitution rings to mutual fund companies and insurance companies that bilked their own clients out of vast fortunes.

One of the prostitutes wrote out in a complaint information indicating that she had met Spitzer in Washington DC around Valentine’s Day.  Spitzer allegedly paid about $4,300 for a session that went ‘well‘.  There was also indications that this was not the Governor’s first time as he owed money on his account at the time of this transaction.

The Governor is a super delegate and supporter of Hillary Clinton.  He has not yet resigned and appears to be following the crisis control model of apologizing to family first and then waiting out the bad press for several days hoping to escape the situation with his job.

Spitzer faces one if not all of the following possible ramifications:

• Losing his job as Governor
• Losing his position as a Super Delegate
• Losing his chance at some day running for President
• Being Charged for crimes relating to

• Prostitution,
• money laundering
• or more in

• DC,
• New York City and
• possibly upstate counties in New York State

The Governor is married with three daughters.

We have often times cited Spitzer as an example of a politician that seems to buck the trend and improve the longer they are in office.  Unfortunately, he seems to have fallen into the same trap that almost all incumbents are hit with eventually.  The longer they are in office, the more likely they are to become corrupt.  We have jokingly mentioned in the past that politicians in general may need to undergo some sort of prostitute rehab, something almost equivalent to the drug rehab that hollywood starlets seem to routinely visit.  Maybe there needs to be a different way all together.
