Pre Inauguration Fireworks set to Go Off in the Senate this Week

This week, the Senate and Congress in general will take up a large number of extraordinary issues that will spark a number of political fights.

image These include but definitely will not be limited to:

Whatever happens there will definitely be a lot of fighting and it won’t be over something safe like steroids in base ball, or executive pay for financial firm CEOs or diet pill relief for super models.

The election is over and everyone is safe for 2 – 6 years and they are going to act like it for a change as they prepare to come out fighting…

We Are All Stuck in the Middle of the Democrats and Republicans - Some Humor

Yesterday, it was extremely upsetting to learn that the Senate had voted to send Americans Civil Liberties down the river at the request of the President.  We cannot just blame Republicans and President George W Bush for all of the terrible fiascos of the last 8 years.  Yes, they definitely are responsible for some of the worst items, but the Democrats have been terrible as well as evidenced by the Democrat Controlled Senate Passage of the FISA bill yesterday.

Democrats in 2006 were given the assignment to uphold the Constitution, and fix some of the things broken by Republicans.  Instead Democrats in the Senate have proved to be almost the same as the Republicans in the Senate and that includes McCain, Clinton and Obama.

So anyway, after my rant and plea yesterday, I thought I would offer up a little humor to enable all of us to catch a breath, recharge our batteries and then renew our efforts to get the House to stop this travesty.

Feel Better?  Have a smile on your face at least?

Dennis Kucinich Bails to focus on Re-Election and Bush’s Impeachment

kucinichs Dennis Kucinich is working to drop out of the Presidential election so that he can focus on getting re-elected to Congress.  As such, NoMoreIncumbents will now officially work to promote those candidates running against Kucinich for his seat in Congress.

While it is an admirable goal for him to consider impeaching President Bush, he needs to move up or get out of the way.  His ideas never really caught on at a Presidential level, but it could be possible that he might have better luck at a local level, maybe Governor or possibly shooting for an office in the Senate some day.

Maybe in the meantime, he might enjoy spending a little extra time with his wife.  :)

No More Incumbents Endorsement of Cindy Sheehan Over Nancy Pelosi

Pelosi sitting with Sheehan Cindy Sheehan is making good on her promise to run against incumbent House Representative and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.  Cindy Sheehan indicated just over two weeks ago that she would run against Pelosi if Pelosi failed to impeach the President within 2 weeks.

It was an ultimatum issued after Pelosi had indicated that impeachment was not an option on the table for Democrats.  Sheehan contends that the US Constitution requires impeachment when the President or Vice President commit high crimes or treason.  She argues that taking impeachment off the table is essentially a failure to follow the constitution.

Sheehan has attracted a great deal of attention as one of the early figure heads of the anti-war movement going so far as to purchase property near President Bush’s ranch in Texas to enable protesters to protest whenever the President came to his ranch home.  Sheehan lives in California and she is running for the San Francisco seat where Pelosi is very popular, or at least was before she started moving towards the middle of the political spectrum early last winter shortly after the Democratic upset in Congress in 2006.

Pelosi is the incumbent congress woman serving San Francisco since 1989.  Her time as an 18 year incumbent in this office has come and gone.  She has recently moved up to the top seat in the House of Representatives and is 3rd in line for the Presidency if something were to happen to George Bush and Dick Cheney.  We would consider supporting Pelosi if she ran for any other office other than the one she holds today.

We will gladly endorse Sheehan in her bid to replace Pelosi.  We may not agree with all of Sheehan’s views on the war and on politics but we do agree with her move to unseat Pelosi above all other reservations that we might have.

The political campaign for 2008 has started months early and we are not going to miss an opportunity to start assisting non-incumbents sooner rather than later.

So for anyone still on the fence its time to roll up your sleeves, wash up for dinner in your newly remodeled bathroom replete with vessel sinks, sit down with the family and talk turkey about where you are going to place your political alliances in 14 months.  The decisions you make today could impact your family, your finances and even the lives of your family.

I am not a doom and gloom type of person, however I do favor being proactive in advance and doing something rather than waiting for an emergency to react to. . ..
