Scott Garrett was first elected to the United States Congress in 2002. He is now in his third term and represents New Jersey’s 5th District. The 5th District encompasses parts of Passiac, Bergen and Sussex counties and all of Warren county.

Garrett, a Republican, supports the abolishing of the Department of Education (which I support as well), is pro-life and supports restricting frivilous lawsuits. He is also for lowering taxes and cutting Federal spending. Before serving in the US Congress he was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly and a private practice lawyer.

Garrett will be up for re-election in 2008.
